Of Sundays and Mornings

As per usual it was quite a challenge for me to make this picture. Make no mistake, nothing is more simple then to rez an object, shoot it, and post-process the photo to show the object of in the best possible way. Or no post-processing at all if you prefer that. One could argue that most of my post-processing is over the top, but I digress.

The challenge was not so much in shooting the best possible angle, light, etc to showcase the object but the real challenge was to capture the mood. This chair, the whole release from Nutmeg, Dreamy Pastels available at Shiny Shabby, brought to mind wide-open spaces, with natural colors, comfy chairs, and sofa’s and not unneeded clutter. Airy and light.

I love making darker pictures, both in color and in black&white. But sometimes I perse want to make a light picture and perhaps I should not be so stubborn. Perhaps I should stay in my lane and do what I am really good at, but you know what? Life gets extremely dull if we only do what we are really good at and I never was good at ‘staying in my lane’. I prefer to ignore the lanes, especially when it comes to creativity and trying to relay a mood, a vibe.

But have no fear, darker-toned pictures are coming soon enough my dear stalkers and 3.5 readers, just keep your eyes peeled. But with all the craziness going on in this world at this point in time, I figured air and light are not a bad thing. But once more I digress.

I also wanted to perse use the poses that come with the furniture. Textures and quality are a given from this designer and more often then not we pick our decor items for that reason alone. Looks. But… This wee baby packs a punch.

The pose you see in the picture is not edited nor adjusted. And I can tell you there are many more poses that are just as good. I can also tell you that the adult poses are absolutely spot on. On a personal note, I do so enjoy bento in poses and seeing a hand and fingers actually curl around certain bodyparts when and if warranted instead of seeing these static hands. And these poses have it all. So if you are considering new furniture, do yourself a favor and check out Nutmeg because most of their furniture is jampacked with great poses.

I am also wearing a dress, and true to form, you can hardly see it. However, it is a new Mainstore release from RKKN.

All items are, in my not so humble opinion, very much worth a test drive. Clickety click on the links and off you go. Well look at me, a proper blog post again, I should seriously work on that or I run the risk of becoming boring. Stay safe and sane.

Of Ramshackle-ness’

One of the reasons I have not been rambling is because instead of having a nifty, handy-dandy ‘write’ button on the top of my screen, WordPress decided to hide it and now I have to traverse half the internet to find it.

The other reason is, my bursitis is back in full swing and with a vengeance. Both my shoulders are in full protest of any movement and guess what? You HAVE to keep moving them. Long story, won’t bother you with the details but trust me when I say it’s painful and tiresome. (try wiping your butt with two defective shoulders, I know TMI but sod it).

Then, of course, there is this thingie-ma-poo, the Bat-Shit-Crazy-Flu as I like to call it, and it is the personification of the ‘monster under the bed’ when I was a little girl. It is scary as can be.  Luckily, I have time in abundance to worry, because typing and even pointing and clicking with a mouse is only possible in very short bursts.

Anywayyyy, today I figured I would take a picture and a ramble a bit. Not perse about what you see in the pic, I have to guard my reputation as a bad blogger after all but more some musings. A healthy dose of Spinach so to speak.

So, how are you all? Safe and healthy I hope? Armed with enough supplies to occupy and distract your mind,  soothe your soul and general well-being.? Please do take care of yourselves and your loved ones and do not forget that lonely neighbor next door or across the street. A wave, a smile, simply recognizing another human being can go a long, long way.

Also, don’t forget to don your homemade hazmat gear when and if you need to go out. My outfit is truly ridiculous. In the absence of well, everything I suppose, I am using my cleaning gloves, you know those big fat rubber ones? Well, mine are bright purple. They go amazingly well with my safety goggles (orange bits and pieces on those) and scarf (lime green) that I tie around the lower part of my face. The gents and ladies at my friendly neighborhood Walmart almost piss themselves laughing when I get in and my husband stays in the car. Oh well. At least I make people laugh.

Shopping is now a dress-up party and exercise in agility.

As always this picture has a story. I started out in dressing up as a latex-fetish-robotic-augmented-freak and ended up with what you see. As always pose and light set the mood for me and while I do love my ‘freaks’, I also love the more down to earth shots. And let’s be honest, down to earth is good right now.

Since my shoulders now really feel as if they are being stabbed with red hot pokers it is time to call it a night. A quick shopping list:

Hair – .Shi // Top – Erratic// Pants – RKKN // Ink – Vegas Tattoo // Pubes – TF // Pose – Del May  (deleted <<– name of pose).

Of This and That

The upside of being away from SL for a short while is that when you come back, there are so many new things and a brand new Flickr riot!

It seems Flickr is doubling down on their rule that you can not promote commercial activities on a free account. From a business point of view that makes sense to me and I for one will not go around finding creators or bloggers on other media. The simple solution is to not put links up but simply tell people where to get the goodies. Personally, I don’t see the drama since I believe we will see that more and more platforms will double down on this.

The logical solution would be that someone starts up all the SL-feeds again. Honestly, I have no clue if they are still around. We will wait with bated breath and until then, Flickr -with-no-links.

Since I love to confuse the fuck out of you all, I figured I would once more use a different featured image on the old blog.

And with good reason. Or at least I think it’s a good reason, as one of the new things I found was this skin from Clef de Peau. Full disclosure; Since my first ramblings about this creator, I have indeed become part of the blogger team and proud to be. Proud because I honestly think Clef de Peau is among the very few skin-designers who deliver a constant quality. Skins for me are about quality but also about tones. Some skins are too orange-hued or have a distinct reddish glow. Clef de Peau has, for me, hit the mark on toning.

This release, Mia, for Lelutka Power Pack Feb. 2020 is geared for the new Lelutka heads, Lelutka Evolution. I am sporting the Toast tone but it comes in all tones. I am very eager to show off the Pearl as well since I am a huge fan of pale skins. Check out Marco’s Flickr for more information and completely different styling.

As for the picture I put up on Flickr, I am wearing the new RKKN release, Mae available at Kustom9. Another ‘Jeans-Slam-Dunk’ from RKKN I think. The sweater is going to go a long way as I can easily see it paired with shorts during those summer evenings on the beach or a bit of shopping.

Last but not least, I want to draw your attention to the pose. It’s from Del May and they have a bunch of new poses out at their Mainstore.

Well, I have to go so I will leave you here, a proper blog-post and I don’t want to spoil it by rambling on ^^.

Of Quiet Time and Not so Quiet Time

It has been a while, hasn’t it, especially for the few Spinach junkies amongst you. I do apologize for that, but life has been wonderfully hectic once more, which tends to happen when you decide pretty much out of the blue to adopt a puppy.

They set up these ‘adopt a pet day’ round these parts and of course, sucker as I am, I had to pick one up. Sold. End of story.

Of course, I forgot completely about the housetraining part. I guess the ‘he’s 3 months old’ should have been a warning to that. Good grief. Don’t get me wrong, the critter is here to stay, but trundling around with him a gazillion times per day does take a bit of time. And seriously his face is just it. He has the most insane eyebrows on a dog, ever. If I get a half-decent photograph of him one of these days, I’ll share. Right now his baby doggy pictures are mostly parts of his tail, bits of the tummy, a few legs, and my other dog photobombing the shot. All adorable, but no eyebrows. To be continued.

On top of that, I repeated my ‘let’s drop your phone into the toilet’ action which created yet more hecticness to my already full days since it took a bit to get everything sorted again. In many ways, I miss my trusted paper organizer but I must say that ‘the Baroness B’ (yes that is the name of my new phone) is a marvel of technology and nifty little apps that help a lot to create order in the wonderful chaos that is my life. Plus, I have now actually backed up all settings, contacts and other things for the first time ever. I almost feel modern. Almost.

Tonight I did enjoy a few quiet moments in SL, sitting on the dock of Zero, one of them anyway and I want to take the opportunity to thank everybody who visited. I am honestly surprised at the number of visitors since I didn’t advertise so double thank you for those who did come by. It is more appreciated then you can imagine. As you know, this build was never meant for the public but an effort to estimate the amount of prims needed for our new home sim. Zero will close in the next few days if for no other reason than I need the house and my beloved outdoor bathtub.

So I took the time to enjoy some peace and quiet, fiddle with my look a bit more and for the fashion freaks amongst you, the outfit is from RKKN. Cate’s Sweater is available at Uber and the Nicole jeans at the RKKN main store where you also can find a demo for the sweater and the leather pants that are part of this release. Worth the trip!

Now I am going on a trip too, a short one, to my bed.

Of Points of View

150

Believe it or not, this picture was not about capturing the grass, which by the way I am mightly pleased I finally managed for a change, it was not about my left foot or even the jeans, tho as you can imagine if you know me just a little bit, are one of my all-time favorites, no, this picture was supposed to be about the house.

Well, the house IS truly marvelous, and my current favorite, but since you can hardly see it, I will save that for a later day.

When I am building, I often stumble upon angles, possible shots, near-perfect views, etc. Often I just continue building because once those building juices flow, I like to just go with it instead of pursuing other things. Last night I was done for the day and found myself trying out poses a dear friend gave me. And low and behold a picture was taken. In that picture, one could not only see the house, the stunning view of the water, a few trees and the aforementioned grass.

Then came the part of the process where most pictures go to die, the post-processing. The view so stunning in-world fell flat. Now there are numerous of tricks to give it depth and all that, but I am trying to shoot a picture that doesn’t need many tricks. One trick in the book was left. Cropping.

And here we are, the thrilling tale of this picture has been told, I am sure the story will be told many many years as it’s no doubt the most thrilling one you ever read. Or perhaps not, but that is how things go, not everything has an exciting story, some things just are the somewhat boring day to day adventures.

The grass is of course from Skye, Wild Grass Collection, and the jeans are from RKKN, “Nicole”, available at RKKN Mainstore.

The jeans, I have to mention them, are, for me, just perfection. I am so done with the paint-on jeans and these truly are a breath of fresh air combined with the stunning textures count on it that I will be wearing these for a long, long, long time to come. The belt that goes with it is also a much-needed accessory. At this point I feel that anything else I will tell you about ‘m will make you think ‘yeah yeah whatever’, so I will shut up and leave you to go check them out for yourself.

Of Harvesting and Lazing

149

For those in a hurry, Nutmeg, Zerkalo (barely visible but I am as always true to form), Apple Fall, Anc, Maitreya, Monso, RKKN. Thnxbai enjoy.

For those with a bit more time, here we go.

Once more I am having a blast building. I have no idea if this build will make it, but after receiving several threats, ranging from exasperating sighs to full-blown ‘do-it’ or else, we will see, shall we?

What I do know is that I am in ” an autumn-state-of-mind’. Considering the temperature here is around 37 degrees Celsius or for the Americans, around 95 Fahrenheit, one can maybe imagine that I do long so bad for cool, crisp autumn weather. But just like unicorns, that won’t be happening anytime soon here. So I decided to quench my desires for autumn in SL. Why not heh?

On top of that, I am trying, emphasis on trying to build a sim once more totally based on what I like. Meaning I get lost for hours in my inventory, because trees are still hiding behind socks, pants are neatly folded behind teakettles and in between mesh body parts poke out in rather disturbing ways. It makes building a rather lengthy, though interesting affair. One day I will try to organize my inventory again. I used to do that while listening to music in a club, but my laptop is so outdated that I’m afraid it will blow if I do anything when out and about other then frantically derendering everything and everybody. You might wonder what this all has to do with the above picture? Allow me…

Zerkalo and Nutmeg both have new releases out at Kustom9, opening tomorrow but you can cam shop, which yours truly always loves. Both releases are stunning and were the inspiration for the above picture. Not only that, as the other items in the picture also are simply stunning and have been gathering dust in my inventory for far too long. I mean, that Apple Fall Outdoor Fireplace is just freaking awesome! As is the assortment of fruit, scattered around, piled high in a beautiful bowl or my favorite, stored in a cup.

A pile of blankets is a must-have in autumn as well as a comfy bench. An old sled easily doubles as a table while a stool is the perfect side-table to hold my coffee and book. All set in a garden that has grown slightly wild over the summer.

Throw this all in the mix, together with comfy slipper shoes, a just-not-too-warm-sweater and some old jeans shorts make me a very happy bunch of pixels indeed.

I won’t bore you to tears with how good it all is, I will, however, make a list for your convenience so you can take a look at all these goodies for yourself.

Nutmeg Main Store   – Fruits, sled, cups, stool

Zerkalo (link to Kustom9) – blankets

Apple Fall Main Store – Fireplace

{Anc} – (link to Kustom9) Bushes

RKKN – Shorts, slipper shoes, sweater, suspenders

Maitreya – Dahlia socks

MONSO – Hair

You have your itinerary, off you go!

Of Boys and Girls

With my shoulder still not being back to full-time duty, this will be short and sweet but I felt I had to ramble a wee bit about the latest RKKN release’s.

Let’s get the important stuff out of the way first shall we?

F*CK Yes. Finally decent textured jeans for females and you guys, well you have been spoiled anyhow with good textured jeans but now you have the cherry on the cake. But I run ahead of myself. Women’s jeans in SL are outfitted like it’s spandex denim. Huge bubble asses, tight all the way down and extremely boring.  Finding a good pair of boyfriend jeans was extremely hard, don’t get me started about a pair of thoroughly ripped ones.

My tribulations are over. When I saw the jeans I was just grinning like an idiot and actually feeling happy. (we can have a private talk about how pixels have such effect on me someday).

So let’s get down to the dirty details ok? Textures? To bloody die for. Realistic denim textures and colors that are right up my alley. The shape of the jeans, and how they hold up in various poses, is great. On top of that, if you want to reveal yourself a bit more, just don’t wear the panties add on. Also right on my alley.

The female outfit comes with a shirt, whereas the male outfit comes with an absolutely epic jacket. Epicness.

Now the jacket is very much not rigged for women. That never stopped me in the past and it didn’t today. Yes, I know my boobies are ‘gone’, big whoop. This jacket is awesome and I love it.

Either way, do yourself a favor and clickety-click on the Flickr links and follow the breadcrumbs from there.

RKKN. Jordan @Man Cave June – Jacket and pants for males

RKKN. Calvin & Ivy @Kustom9 June – Male jeans and females jeans and tops

I will you leave you here because as said my shoulder is still smarting and typing is not what the doctor ordered.

Of Exhaustion and Disarray

132

I greatly respect those who week after week make beautiful pictures and create scenes to show off this or that or all of it. Some scenes are so gorgeous and inspired they are in my not so humble opinion, art.

By now you all know I am, at best, a bad, bad blogger. My pictures usually end up having a totally different focus and feel, then that what I tried to frame, once I am done with the post processing and the cropping. But my pictures usually tell a story or relay a mood and I like to think I am not half bad in doing that.

The bed from Nutmeg, part of the Disarray Set release, is everything I wanted in a bed unless I am in a very girly mood because then I want this exact bed with a cast iron or metal frame and for the times I am in a modern mood I still want this exact bed with a modern frame. (hint, wink, wink, nudge nudge cough etc).

In other words, this bed is it. It is also how my bed in Life 1.0 usually looks unless I am in a very tidy mood, which happens about twice a year. The colours are absolutely stunning be it you are in a light mood or a dark mood or something in between. The textures have a depth and sharpness that left yours truly drooling.

As so often happens when I truly like something, I have a hard time capturing it. Because how do you capture a feeling? How do you capture a vibe or an emotion? So after a lot of ‘looking for the right angle’ late last night, this suddenly happened. And it was the perfect capture of how I felt at that moment in time.

It goes far beyond the bed. I am still trying to build a sim, yeah I know it is a standing joke by now amongst my friends. It is taking so long because none of the builds I set up relayed the mood and vibe I want to achieve. Or try to achieve. Not.Even.Close.

It is exhausting having all these ideas jumble around in your head and well the rest is almost history as I let my avatar flop down, lit up a fag and called it a day letting exhaustion and disarray rule.

Now a lot of words so here are the dirty deeds:

Nutmeg. Disarray Set, now available at Shiny Shabby

RKKN. Eva’s Set (shirt only) now available at Shiny Shabby

RKKN. Colorblock Sneakers now available at Belle

One last remark: The pose in the picture is NOT part of the menu. Why not I hear some sceptics mutter. Because I am a bad blogger remember…

Pose (slightly altered the right hand) used is from the Campina set by Ana Poses

Now sod off and do your duties!

Of Goggles and Chaises

131 goggles and chaises

That I am a ‘bad’ blogger is well known, at least to those who pay attention and this picture is no exception. I set out to show some of the RKKN goodies that have been released and then pair them with the chaise released a while back by Nutmeg.

You’ll need to visit both stores I’m afraid if you want a good look at the shirt I am wearing, which is part of the Avalon release. A rather epic release with the robotic arm (and legs had I been wearing the trousers which I am not). The chaise I am artfully draped on is of course from Nutmeg.

Do yourself a favour and hop over to Nutmeg and RKKN (REKA Holdings) and check both items out. And oh, while you are there don’t forget to check out the goggles which are also from RKKN.

I won’t bore you with the usual drivel about quality because I do not mind being a bad blogger. I do mind being a boring one. So, shopping assignments distributed, let’s talk about stuff I have been doing besides trying to learn Affinity.

A wee trip to Mexico, visiting the stunning Basilica de Guadalupe which blew me away and experiments with watercolours, oil- and acrylic paints with varying successes. Besides the creative endeavours, I have decided to start making my own bread. Which leads to flour settling in every nook and cranny in my apartment and that in turn leads me to clean a lot. As you can see, more than enough to do.

And in between, I am still building, which by now has become a standing joke and I think there are actual bets out on whether or not I will open the sim ever again. The jury is still out.

I am still trying to juggle my more demanding schedule and finding time for SL so, for now, I ask you, my 1.5 readers, bear with me.
