Of Pleasure of the Moment

174 1a

This tattoo caught my eye the moment I saw it. I can only dream of having it in real life, but I do have it in my second life. Now as per usual, my post-processing madness only gives you a hint of how good this ink really is. If you would like a better look you could visit the designers Flickr page, or you can hop over to Tialli- The Fair Around the World! and drool all over the vendor or better yet, be brave and grab it.

What came as an utter surprise to me, is that the Maitreya body has been updated and version 5.1. is, amongst other updates and novelties, BoM ready. Just a FYI.

The skin I am wearing is obviously NOT available in this available tone (post-processing alert and all that) but it is my second all-time favorite Clef de Peau.Ana Nature [LELUTKA] Applier. Obviously, I am using the Strange Eyebrows option, something I have been wanting to do for ages. Ages indeed as this skin is a year old (or thereabouts)  but it works perfectly with the new Lelutka line and comes in BoM and applier in one neat little buy. Your pain is to decide what color to pick. Personally, I have it in natural and milk.

I do love BoM, I have said it before because once again it gives me the freedom to wear as many or as few layers as I please which allows me to mess up the ol’ toon spectacularly. And I am very good at that. And it makes that the once again the ‘secret’ to a great look is in the shape (as a good friend has taught me) and the layers you plaster on it. But.. you can also go au naturel and probably look better then I do with all my BoM-ming. Here’s your ride, should you want to give it a go,  Clef de Peau mainstore

The pose is from SAPA available at the Cyber Fair and with that last little tit-bit of information, I would like to take the opportunity to say: Please stay safe, healthy and sane in this mad mad world and spread love and joy, not germs and viruses.

Of 50 Lindens and Wet Dreams

Yes, pink. Live with it. With that said let’s get started shall we?

Seven Emporium is one of the best on the grid, if not the best when it comes to that decor you simply must-have. Be it to decorate your house, garden, street or simply because you just have to have that particular sign or machine or gadget.

Once again Seven Emporium has two amazing signs out for FLF so you better hurry up. I am showing “Wet Dreams”, to state the obvious, and for once the subject of my blogpost is actually visible in my picture. Kinda scary but there you go.

I had a blast making this pic especially since it once again involved messing with my avatar which I absolutely love doing. I love Cyberpunk stuff or whatever it is called these days. It is on my to-do list, now 5 pages long, to make a few looks with cyber stuff and perhaps I will even share the results. The CYBER fair is on as well, you might want to check it out. Anyway, I digress.

Seven Emporium has two releases out for FLF as I mentioned and for more info click here to see Agustkov’s Flickr . Now if neon signage or a huge selection of machines that are chockablock full with poses or all the other stuff this designer has created over the years, is not your thing,  then the sim Area 7 is defo worth a visit so get off your arses and wander around a bit.

A short serving of spinach but I am confident all 3 of you who actually read my blog will survive.

Of This and That

The upside of being away from SL for a short while is that when you come back, there are so many new things and a brand new Flickr riot!

It seems Flickr is doubling down on their rule that you can not promote commercial activities on a free account. From a business point of view that makes sense to me and I for one will not go around finding creators or bloggers on other media. The simple solution is to not put links up but simply tell people where to get the goodies. Personally, I don’t see the drama since I believe we will see that more and more platforms will double down on this.

The logical solution would be that someone starts up all the SL-feeds again. Honestly, I have no clue if they are still around. We will wait with bated breath and until then, Flickr -with-no-links.

Since I love to confuse the fuck out of you all, I figured I would once more use a different featured image on the old blog.

And with good reason. Or at least I think it’s a good reason, as one of the new things I found was this skin from Clef de Peau. Full disclosure; Since my first ramblings about this creator, I have indeed become part of the blogger team and proud to be. Proud because I honestly think Clef de Peau is among the very few skin-designers who deliver a constant quality. Skins for me are about quality but also about tones. Some skins are too orange-hued or have a distinct reddish glow. Clef de Peau has, for me, hit the mark on toning.

This release, Mia, for Lelutka Power Pack Feb. 2020 is geared for the new Lelutka heads, Lelutka Evolution. I am sporting the Toast tone but it comes in all tones. I am very eager to show off the Pearl as well since I am a huge fan of pale skins. Check out Marco’s Flickr for more information and completely different styling.

As for the picture I put up on Flickr, I am wearing the new RKKN release, Mae available at Kustom9. Another ‘Jeans-Slam-Dunk’ from RKKN I think. The sweater is going to go a long way as I can easily see it paired with shorts during those summer evenings on the beach or a bit of shopping.

Last but not least, I want to draw your attention to the pose. It’s from Del May and they have a bunch of new poses out at their Mainstore.

Well, I have to go so I will leave you here, a proper blog-post and I don’t want to spoil it by rambling on ^^.

Of Portraits and Vision

It is known, to steal a catchphrase, that I love to fiddle with pictures. The results are varying but they all have one thing in common, the time spends ‘fiddling’ usually yields an effect I like.

It is also a way to mask flaws that the photographed object might have. Touch up a bit here, touch up a bit there and voila, a perfect picture.

The picture you see here has not been touched up. It has been resized, the neckline has been blurred as I was not wearing a body when I shot this and the left border has been added. That is as they say it. Taken in Firestorm, ultra settings and a neutral WL with no shadows. Now, my sweet 3.5 readers, you might wonder why would I do this?

Personally, I think the simplest pictures are the absolute most difficult to frame. You have nowhere to hide. Regardless of what you shoot, if you go for simple, minimalistic there is no way to hide. What you see is what you get.

So lets for a  moment pretend you are so floored by this face that you want to ‘get it’. You would have to get your be-hind over to Clef de Peau and grab the Bianca skin. It is my favorite from this designer.

The lipgloss is part of the deal as are the freckles and tadaaaa it is BoM. For those already the proud owners of this skin (and others), please hit the re-delivery terminal at the store and you will find BoM-layers in your package, sitting quite cosey right next to the applier for those who are not (yet) convinced to go BoM.

I am wearing the new Lelutka head, Nova 1.0, which in my not so humble opinion is absolutely freaking stunning. The hair base is from .Shi and currently at Uber is the most insane hair available. Insanely good that is.

I will leave it at this, go see for yourself by visiting Clef de Peau Mainstore, Uber and Lelutka.

Of Brunch and New Year

163 a

On the last day of 2019, a bit of confusion by having a different picture on the good ol’ blog then the one that features on Flickr. Consider it, for my 3 faithful spinach junkies, a last-ditch attempt to be actually funny in 2019 or something like that.

More confusion probably, because if you look at the upcoming release for nutmeg, you might think it will be an LI explosion. Allow me to set you straight. It is not. The Farmhouse Brunch Tray and The Brunch Bread Tray are ONLY 3 LI each and the eggs come in at 2 LI. Now, this might mean nothing to you but it means a lot to me considering I am always struggling with my allotted land-impact allowance.

If you consider the intricacy of the items, I for one am rather impressed with how low the land-impact is. Needless to say, the texturing, structure and LoD are insanely good.

Food in SL is a thing. Personally, I am very happy this is not brightly colored, barbie doll-like food but is very realistic. Please don’t misunderstand me, I have tons of happy brightly colored tarts, cookies, soups, and candy in my inventory. It is nice to have options and to go for more realistic looking items as well and this set, which has many more items, offers just that.

Nutmeg – Farmhouse Brunch will be available on January 5th, 2020, @ The Food Court. Information about the event you can find here on The Food Court website.

After all this, there is not much more left to say, other than to wish you all a happy, healthy and inspired 2020!

Of Baubles and Eve’s

It is a known secret that I am a fan of Nutmeg. The end. Or perhaps I should add; epic release at the Epiphany come December 15th blabla, etc, etc, go get your stuff.

Bon voyage, bonne chance with getting the rares and have a blast.

If it were that easy because in my not so humble opinion Nutmeg is presenting a set that is yet again another triumph. It’s not just a table, chair, lamp, and seasonal clutter. No, me dearies, it is very much not. Although the aforementioned items make up the release, they are of such quality that they warrant the hassle of trying to get them.

My personal favorites are the ornaments. ‘Tis the season and all that but they are of such quality and so rich in textures, that it almost is a must-have. Of course all this in the eye of the beholder. If this style isn’t you, then well, it isn’t for you. But if this style is you, then these are the best ornaments you will find on the grid. LOD check. Textures check, LI check. Check, check check.

Vibe, style, feel or however you wish to call it. Check.

I could go on, but I won’t. It’s useless because well you better just check it for yourself.

Happy checking and happy holiday to you yours.

Of Quiet Time and Not so Quiet Time

It has been a while, hasn’t it, especially for the few Spinach junkies amongst you. I do apologize for that, but life has been wonderfully hectic once more, which tends to happen when you decide pretty much out of the blue to adopt a puppy.

They set up these ‘adopt a pet day’ round these parts and of course, sucker as I am, I had to pick one up. Sold. End of story.

Of course, I forgot completely about the housetraining part. I guess the ‘he’s 3 months old’ should have been a warning to that. Good grief. Don’t get me wrong, the critter is here to stay, but trundling around with him a gazillion times per day does take a bit of time. And seriously his face is just it. He has the most insane eyebrows on a dog, ever. If I get a half-decent photograph of him one of these days, I’ll share. Right now his baby doggy pictures are mostly parts of his tail, bits of the tummy, a few legs, and my other dog photobombing the shot. All adorable, but no eyebrows. To be continued.

On top of that, I repeated my ‘let’s drop your phone into the toilet’ action which created yet more hecticness to my already full days since it took a bit to get everything sorted again. In many ways, I miss my trusted paper organizer but I must say that ‘the Baroness B’ (yes that is the name of my new phone) is a marvel of technology and nifty little apps that help a lot to create order in the wonderful chaos that is my life. Plus, I have now actually backed up all settings, contacts and other things for the first time ever. I almost feel modern. Almost.

Tonight I did enjoy a few quiet moments in SL, sitting on the dock of Zero, one of them anyway and I want to take the opportunity to thank everybody who visited. I am honestly surprised at the number of visitors since I didn’t advertise so double thank you for those who did come by. It is more appreciated then you can imagine. As you know, this build was never meant for the public but an effort to estimate the amount of prims needed for our new home sim. Zero will close in the next few days if for no other reason than I need the house and my beloved outdoor bathtub.

So I took the time to enjoy some peace and quiet, fiddle with my look a bit more and for the fashion freaks amongst you, the outfit is from RKKN. Cate’s Sweater is available at Uber and the Nicole jeans at the RKKN main store where you also can find a demo for the sweater and the leather pants that are part of this release. Worth the trip!

Now I am going on a trip too, a short one, to my bed.

Of an Open House

You are cordially invited to attend my Open House, a shameless ‘showing off’ of my Second Life Home.

First things first, the Windlight or absence thereof;

Since FS has not yet fixed the ongoing issues with EEP and the choice of multiple viewers these days, the Windlight Settings are DYI. I strongly suggest a greyish, misty one but obviously, you can do as you please.

With that said, feel free to visit but please keep in mind this build was meant to be my home and is my home. It is not a huge build with snaking alleys or towering builds, far from it. But it has grass!!

It has no ‘theme’. The inspiration for this sim was to create a place that felt good. Nature, water (always water, must have water), and to have a place that is far away from everything. I love abandoned places. Not perse of the haunted or half-destroyed kind but also those builds that are empty, dusty, and you wonder why. What made the people leave?

Themes don’t work for me I guess. I just rezz and use stuff I really really like and try to make it all work together. That is my theme. My favorite things. There you have it, I have now an official theme! My Favorite Things. Though you are hard-pressed to find Cream-colored ponies and crisp apple strudels, you might stumble on wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings.

The sim will only be open to the public for a very short time, visit while you can. As always, play nice, and enjoy your visit and thank you for coming over!
